Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is illegal. Eight casinos are based in a generally tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime area, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income gained from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are for all intents and purposes necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The first Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty slots and sixty tables. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of 21, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machines and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the normal tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a multinational resort and hotel compound that highlights many conveniences accompanying the casino, which houses 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 table games.
