Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where gambling den wagering is prohibited. Eight gambling dens are established in a generally tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime location, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; still, investment sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are means around this, as is real of most borders.

The first Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked bateau casino, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling den is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the common tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel building that highlights numerous luxuries in addition to the gambling hall, which provides 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 tables.
