Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall wagering is not legal. Eight casinos are anchored in a relatively small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent spot, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The astonishing capital acquired from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; although, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are apparently required to pass, there are methods around this, as is real of most border crossings.

The first Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling hall, highlights 150 slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of 150 slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machines and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the familiar table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive vacation and hotel compound that features many amenities accompanying the casino, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and 88 table games.
